Jacob explains concepts in a way that's very easy to understand and focuses on teaching pieces that the student is interested in. At the start of the lessons, you outline what you're looking for and set up some long term goals. Afterward, each lesson takes a step towards those ultimate end goals while also developing your piano technique and understanding. I’ve studied jazz piano with Jacob since 2016. I’ve had several different teachers before, and he’s the best! He is extremely knowledgeable and patient, enthusiastic and encouraging, and very clear and creative in his explanations.
